-
Entry requirements: A US passport and visa are not required
- for US citizens to enter Antigua and Barbuda as temporary
- visitors for periods up to 6 months, but the Department of
- State recommends that US citizens always carry a valid passport
- as proof of citizenship. Antigua immigration authorities
- require some proof of citizenship upon entry; for example, a
- birth certificate and a valid driver's license with photo. They
- also will require a return ticket or proof of onward travel.
-

-
Visitors wishing to remain more than 6 months, or who wish to
- immigrate, should write the Embassy of Antigua in Washington, DC
- for further information.
-

-
Customs: US citizens may return to the United States from
- Antigua with up to 200 cigarettes, one quart of liquor, and six
- ounces of perfume without paying US customs duties. Travelers
- wishing to return to the US with more than these amounts, or
- with plants, animals, or other restricted items, should consult
- the nearest office of the US Customs Service for details on
- proper documentation and procedures.
-

-
Telecommunications: Antigua and Barbuda has a good internal
- telephone system, which is accessible from the US by
- direct-dialing area code (809) and the local number. Overseas
- telephone, cable, and telex services are good and are available
- 24 hrs.
